Jass Performance Airflow Optimization Radiator Panel (NA/MK1 Miata)
The standard Mazda Miata/MX5 front fascia design permits significant incoming airflow to bypass the radiator core, thus reducing cooling efficiency—a notable concern during high-performance operation. The Jass Performance Radiator Panel is an engineered solution developed to correct this thermal inefficiency.
Technical Features & Engineering Detail
- Material: Constructed from robust Stainless Steel for exceptional longevity and inherent resistance to corrosion and heat cycling.
- Airflow Optimization: Features a calculated rearward bend creating an effective air insulation seal.
- Installation: Engineered for a precise bolt-on fit utilizing existing OEM fixing points. All required installation hardware is included.
- Finish Options: Available in three protective and aesthetic finishes:
- Polished
- Gloss Black
- Texture Black
Performance Benefits

Fitment Notes (NA/MK1 Chassis 1989-1997)
Compatibility information for specific chassis variants:
- Very Early 1.6L Models (Pre-1991, EU Market): Some very early production models lack the necessary factory front cutouts for panel mounting. Installation on these chassis requires drilling two 8mm pilot holes for attachment.
- Early US 1.6L Models: These vehicles may have the front collision sensor and wiring harness positioned in an area that interferes with a flush fit. While later models feature a lower sensor position, early US owners may need to perform minor relocation of this sensor for optimal panel seating.
