The radio/control panel of the MX5 NA/MK1 is slightly larger than the standard 2DIN sizing. The two types of adapters Jass Performance has developed provide option to fit nearly any model on the market.
This version of the radio adapter allows the integration of the 2DIN units, which come with slightly smaller front face panel relative to the unit body and rarely have touch screens . The front cut out is made to fit their most common size of 102 x 178mm.
Ourdays, touch screen multimedia offers more options and is cheaper vs. the button opperated units. This is why we could refer this as to the "older" standard. Please make sure you need this version and not the touch screen 2DIN version.
The adapter offers unique adjustable side bolt pattern to securely fix any radio. It allows adjustability of the multimedia unit relative to the tombstone - to position the multimedia further in or out.
Please note, there were few very rare late JDM and US tombstones with the 2DIN cut out - should you have one of those you would obvilouslyu not need 2DIN adapter.
